Natalie “Speed” Sather

After watching sprint car greats such as Donny Schatz, I entered my first go-kart race at age nine and have had a passion for racing ever since.

After winning a national go-kart racing title, I continued my racing career by advancing to the sprint car division.  I raced competitively with the World of Outlaws, American Sprint Car Series, All Stars, and with Australia’s premiere racing series.  After a few years of successful dirt track racing, I joined NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity to race on asphalt.  I ran in the NASCAR Whelen Series for three years. During those years, I placed 25th overall in the nation and 5th in the highly competitive Virginia State points championship.

Through the years, my racing career has transitioned from behind-the-wheel to in front of the camera to behind-the-scenes.  I've worked as a race reporter covering races and producing interviews with drivers and racing teams. My reporting career has involved my work with NBC NASCAR on the show “NASCAR America," the World of Outlaws, and 3 Wide Life.

I've worked as the Marketing Director for National Sprint League, a start-up 410 Sprint Car series.  I was responsible for sponsorship development and track hospitality, creation of program materials, and assisted with the design and management of the merchandise.

Most recently I was the Digital Media Coordinator for Dale Earnhardt Jr. at JR Motorsports. I assisted in managing, producing, and editing the Dirty Mo Radio division which hosted eight podcasts on DaleJr.com. In addition to hosting the show, I assisted with creating, directing, and writing the scripts for JRM 360, a weekly show on JR Motorsports’ website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

I have a passion for racing, marketing, and developing relationships. From that passion and perseverance, Speed Media was born.

You know those kids running around in over-sized race tees, up on the fence trying to get each drivers attention, then instantly passing out before the main event. Yup. That was me, from day one. I was that little girl, with my brothers and cousins, always covered in dirt from head-to-toe. At a young age, I knew I would forever love this sport and the memories that went along with it. I grew up watching my dad win many races at our home track and after he retired, my brothers then started their career.

I was at the track just about every weekend once my brothers started racing and my dad decided he wanted to give me a shot. I can say, CLEARLY, driving was not for me. One full season of junior sprints and following my brother around after he lapped me every race, I realized that being a fan and involved outside of the cockpit was where I played the biggest role.

As my brothers progressed from micros, to midgets and to sprint cars, I chased my own dreams of playing softball throughout high school and two years of college. In the last four years, I have received my Associates and Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and in the process of getting my masters and teaching credential.

Five years ago, I was lucking enough to meet my husband, Drew, who introduced me to the traveling aspect of racing. With that, my love for it grew even more. I have traveled to Tulsa, Knoxville, Ohio and look forward to many more in the future. I have built many lifelong friendships along the way, including Natalie and I. Being a part of racing and its community, is something that I will cherish forever. I was born and raised around this sport and it will always be an important part in my life.

I am so happy to take this passion and work with Natalie and her business, Speed Media!
