The 410 Knoxville Nationals

The big Nationals, this would be the 3rd time having the big motor in the car@ Knoxville. We qualified Wednesday night. In time trials we were 44th which put me on the outside front row. I got the jump in my heat and would go into the first corner with a little lead, I saw underneath me the car on the pole get a little sideways & new that it wasn't going to be good. Over the radio I hear, long red... I pulled into the pits and looked around and only saw one other car, the 39c Jason Solwold besides myself. Troy Little also made it out safely as wel. It was crazy all the other cars but us were involved. I would restart on the pole and would lead for a while till Mr. Sowold would pass me for the lead. I finished 2nd place. In the feature I started in the back and would come in 20th. After the night I found out that the points we had accumulated would put us on the pole for a heat race on Friday night. I would stay and attempt to earn a spot in a main event on Saturday. Well after a 3rd place in my heat, and a 22nd(after pulling in when I saw some smoke coming from the motor) it would put us in the D Main for Saturday night. After some discussion, the team decided that we would not run Saturday after it had been a long weekend, and we had already destroyed one car and need the remaining cars to finish off the season.

I did stay Saturday night to watch the final event. It was alot of fun to stay and watch. Donny Schatz would make a late race pass around Jason Meyers to take the win. Congrats Donny! I also got messured for my new Butler Built Seat, which everyone should have. They are amazing seats, and am very lucky to feel safe when I strap myself into my Butler seat. Over all it was a really fun 2 weeks. I got to meet alot of great new people, & met up with old friends that I haven't seen for a while. I really need to thank my crew, they are the ones that made it possible for me to get out there and race: Terry, Jake, Chris aka Critter, Zach Chappel, Lou& Sue, Mom, and of course the leader of the pack Kenny Woodruff!! Thank you so so much!
